The stemmed beer glasses from the Holmegaard's Idéelles series are particularly stylish on the Danish lunch table. The designer behind the series is Per Lütken, one of Holmegaard’s most advanced glassblowers, and he has designed the fine hand-blown glass series from 1978. His love of sweeping, feminine shapes is evident in the glass series. The soft, curved rim of the beer glass makes drinking comfortable and the balanced weight of the glass makes it nice to hold. The series contains virtually all types of glasses such as glasses for various wines, water, champagne, cognac and schnapps – with and without stems.

Take good care of your glasses

To take the best care of your beer glasses, wash them gently to prevent them from breaking. In fact, all glasses - also wine glasses - can be put in the dishwasher, which is probably good news for everyone who has one. The decisive factor for the best possible dishwashing is actually the temperature at which they are washed. Please take care not to wash your glasses at too high a temperature. Preferably use the dishwasher’s glass programme, if it has one. In addition, make sure that the dishwasher is filled with rinse aid and salt and that it is correctly adjusted to the water hardness. Finally, proper drying is also essential to achieve a good result without any deposits of limescale on the glasses.

Now your beer glasses are ready to be placed in the kitchen cupboard or display cabinet. Opinions may vary as to how you should store your wine glasses in your cupboards, but the correct answer is that they should stand on their feet – just like you put them on the dinner table. They should not be upside down, which many people think is the correct way, but there is no need to turn the glass upside down. Especially if they are already in a cupboard that protects against dust. The downside of placing beer glasses upside down is that they absorb the smell of the cabinet shelves. This odour can be more or less unpleasant depending on the surface. Your beer glasses fare best with air around them.
