A perfectly-timed arrival

Press releases

It’s no secret that, today, time is a luxury. In recent years, being unplugged and offline has also become a rare indulgence – and that has brought renewed focus to classic table and wall clocks with an aura of old-school functionality and high style, especially in those created by Arne Jacobsen himself. With impeccable timing, Arne Jacobsen Clocks is releasing new editions of the iconic "Station" and "Bankers" clocks – in trendy grey tones for the table and as a black statement piece for any wall.

Grand Cru To Go

Press releases

The on-the-go culture has developed rapidly over the last few years. Thanks to digital advancements, we can now work wherever there’s an internet connection, and for many of us, the car has become a mobile office used for meetings while dashing from point A to point B. But it is hard to be a working hero without food and drink. That's why Rosendahl is adding two new products to the iconic Grand Cru series: A well-designed drink bottle and an elegant thermos mug. Both of these indispensable thirst quenchers feature single-handed, push-button functionality, delivering hot and cold drinks on the run with trendy silicone details in blue, plum, black or white.

Great news for filter coffee fans

Press releases

Danish coffee habits have changed markedly in recent years. Where filter coffee and the coffee plunger were once the everyday choice, coffee capsules and single serves have become popular alternatives. But true coffee connoisseurs have already moved on. Now, it is all about the pour-over method, which returns to the roots of coffee brewing by making old-school coffee directly in the pot. Rosendahl has answered the prayers of coffee lovers with the introduction of a filter coffee brewer that fits the classic Grand Cru thermos jug, as well as a paper towel holder with a logo detail that lets you wipe up trendily when the day is done.

Elongated elegance

Press releases

Modern food culture is about much more than just eating well. In both everyday life and on special occasions, there is an increased focus on the food served and on the company in which it is enjoyed. A meal has become a social activity where we come together to enjoy small, informal dishes and discuss the state of the world as a break from hectic, everyday life. In keeping with this modern social dining trend, Rosendahl is supplementing the Grand Cru series with a classic, rectangular serving dish. Its useful shape is dedicated to all things small, but good – from tapas and sushi to crudités, fruit and sweet treats.

Karen Blixen’s floral language

Press releases

Karen Blixen’s literary works rank among the most iconic of the 20th century. The world-renowned Danish author (better known by her pseudonym, Isak Dinesen) was simultaneously decadent and driven by great interest in authentic and natural phenomena – and this is exactly the inspiration for this year’s Christmas collection. With an appreciation for Blixen as a nature-lover, Ole Kortzau has once again interpreted the Baroness’s universe in new ornaments for the Christmas tree, for presents and as decoration in the home, focusing, at the same time, on the Nordic tradition of making woven Christmas hearts. As an author, Karen Blixen was known and revered for her use of language, but she also had a strong, passionate bond with nature and seasonal flowers. There are, therefore, several books on Blixen’s “floral language” and it is no wonder that those who lived around the African farm where Blixen lived for many years nicknamed her Flower.

Graphical Christmas glamour

Press releases

Lifting the lid of the Christmas tree decorations box is like opening a jewelry box. With an extravagant whirl of gold, silver and glitter often hidden within, even supporters of minimalist decor are tempted to pile on the glitz – particularly when the Christmas decorations have a graphic style and modern form. These are precisely the characteristics of Zarah Voigt’s Christmas designs for Rosendahl – and now there is a follow-up to last year’s successful collaboration with the well-known jewelry artist. Zarah Voigt has designed a special collection for Karen Blixen's Christmas, celebrating Christmas decorating for the modern home with sophisticated metal ornaments in heart-, cornet- and rhombus-shapes.

Anniversary steel

Press releases

In 2018, Rosendahl’s “Grand Cru” signature range is celebrating twenty-five years on the Danish design scene, but there is no sign of metal fatigue in this universe of iconic grooves. On the contrary, Grand Cru – based on the characteristic steel and rubber wine bottle stopper – has never been in a stronger position. The products of the Grand Cru range now cover virtually all categories for the dining table and the home. To mark the occasion, Rosendahl is launching a new interpretation of the classic taper candle holder, applying the same DNA to a new, stylish steel utility design, with the intention of making every day beautiful.

Grand Cru-formula mill

Press releases

Contemporary cooking now embraces many different taste sensations – from vegan cuisine to world cuisine. This calls for a well-stocked library of seasoning in the kitchen drawer, and also drives the need for freshly ground salt and pepper on the table to give just that final touch that we all know when we taste it! With this in mind – and to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Grand Cru range this year – Rosendahl is now launching a new mill design to spice up the dining table and the meal, with a conical design, glazed white porcelain and organic oak top in keeping with the familiar DNA of Grand Cru.

Spicy spaghetti

Press releases

Even as New Nordic Cuisine grows in popularity, there is still room for old classics in contemporary food culture. This is particularly true of pasta, and old-school spaghetti looks very tempting with simple but delicious ways of serving it up. This everyday hero of all is worthy of appropriate storage, and with that in mind Rosendahl is now incorporating a tall spaghetti jar in the Grand Cru range, with a smart spice jar as its sidekick with the optional addition of a grinding mechanism for modern-day “mammas” and DIY gastrochefs to use.

Serving brunch sideways

Press releases

Coffee culture is booming and is now virtually a modern science. Both at home in the kitchen and at official championships, baristas compete to claim the best brewing method, but ultimately, it’s probably a matter of taste whether you’re into filtered coffee, capsules or cafetiere. This autumn, fans of cafetieres can look forward to a well-brewed cup. This is because Rosendahl is adding an innovative new coffee plunger to the Grand Cru range which draws on all the aspects of the brewing method and at the same time keeps the coffee warm for hours with its built-in thermal effect.

Immensely practical

Press releases

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, goes the old saying. However, there are now also plenty of other uses for citrus fruits like lemons, grapefruit and limes. For example, they’re brilliant in dressings and marinades. That’s why Rosendahl has created the Grand Cru Lemon Squeezer – a new gadget for squeezing citrus fruit directly into the familiar, grooved storage jars. Another new addition to the range is the Grand Cru Grater. It grates Parmesan and ginger in the same way and, like the lemon squeezer, it has a built-in lid function. The Grand Cru storage jar range is among Rosendahl’s most popular and iconic designs. Big families and passionate foodies alike need practical storage for everyday staples as well as for special purchases. The comprehensive range of Grand Cru glassware covers most of these needs. So far, the focus has primarily been on kitchen dry goods, but Rosendahl is now changing all that with the introduction of two new products created specifically for the fridge.

Geometry for tea-lovers and coffee connoisseurs

Press releases

When it’s teatime or time for a cup of freshly brewed mocha, the tea strainer and thermos jug are indispensable. Nevertheless, this basic equipment rarely gets noticed, as the tea and coffee rituals of today are often a question of infusion time, special roasts, aroma and just the right cup to complete the experience. Rosendahl is redressing this with the launch of the Penta Tea Strainer and Penta Thermos Jug, presenting two steaming-hot, practical new products for hot drinks, with the look and feel of architectural geometry. In producing the Penta thermos jug, Rosendahl’s intent was innovation in the Thermos jug category – and the ambitions are the same in terms of the Penta tea strainer! This is a brand-new design that takes tea-making to new heights, while making it simple and a joy to behold.

Carafe with an edge

Press releases

In the world of wine, oxidation and decanting make all the difference. Both everyday wine and sought-after vintages benefit from being decanted into a carafe. With that in mind, Rosendahl has been working with designer Thor Høy to create Penta: an innovative, ultra-decorative glassware design for both aerating and decanting. At the same time, it breaks with the conventional wisdom that a carafe should have a round, organic design. The hand-blown Penta carafe is perfect for wine, but of course also suitable for still or carbonated water, to add a cool edginess to your table. Like the rest of Penta range, the new carafe takes its inspiration from classic geometry. Featuring five edges, the style of the “Pentagon” is austere and architectural, in tune with contemporary industrial design, with its hand-blown glass reflecting and playing with the light.

Dual function Ditzel

Press releases

Since Rosendahl rediscovered and reinterpreted designer Nanna Ditzel’s charismatic Crisscross pattern last year, the brand has been challenging our visual habits. Nanna Ditzel originally designed Crisscross as wallpaper, but the striped graphical pattern has transferred successfully to glass, porcelain, silicone and textiles. Now Rosendahl is repeating this success with the launch of a Nanna Ditzel Cube: a square, turnable candle holder for both block candles and tea lights, using Crisscross as a relief embellishment on black aluminium, and appealing to everyone who loves candles.

Zarah Voigts Christmas decorations

Press releases

Christmas is a time of traditions, but not everybody’s traditions are the same. Jewellery artist Zarah Voigt grew up with the theatre and haute couture coursing through her veins, and this is evident in her take on Christmas, orchestrated with abundance, adventure and inspiration from the grandeur of the past. Now Zarah Voigt is putting in a guest appearance as a designer for Rosendahl’s Karen Blixen’s Christmas range, interpreting this year’s Christmas decorations with inspiration from the world of jewellery by presenting two star designs, gold-plated and silver-plated, worthy of the glamorous Baroness Blixen. Zarah Voigt is making her debut as a designer of Christmas decorations with Karen Blixen’s Christmas collection. The DNA underlying her designs is well-known and, just like Zarah Voigt’s jewellery, the Top Star and the Star Hanger are full of striking contrasts, giving this year’s new Christmas decorations a raw, yet sophisticated look and feel.

Shooting stars and elegant angels

Press releases

Karen Blixen is a pioneer of world literature, but the Danish writer is famous for more than her fantastic tales. The mythology surrounding Baroness Blixen is very much linked to her personal life and lifestyle, and so is the Karen Blixen Christmas collection, which Rosendahl adds to each year by creating more Christmas tree decorations. Designer Ole Kortzau draws his inspiration from Karen Blixen’s own Christmas, which she loved to stage imaginatively and therefor, Karen Blixen’s Christmas is full of angelic enchantment and stardust. As always, Rosendahl supports the Karen Blixen Museum at Rungstedlund with a proportion of sales proceeds.

Arne Jacobsen with an appealing blue hue

Press releases

Arne Jacobsen is one of the pioneers of Danish architecture and design. With his passion for overall solutions, he produced both architecture and industrial design, creating some of his best-known and most popular signature designs during the 1950s and 1960s. This applies not least to the City Hall wall clock, designed by Arne Jacobsen for Rødovre Town Hall in 1956. As a tribute to Arne Jacobsen’s multi-design practice, this autumn Arne Jacobsen Clocks is launching an updated version of City Hall, putting a new stamp on the iconic classic clock. The anodised aluminium box and royal blue dial accentuate the wall clock’s retro-cool references, and this new City Hall item also adds a new, raw nuance to the popular metallic trend in interior design of kitchens, offices and living rooms.

Rosendahl

PRESS RELEASES

Scandinavian design is known for its often organic shapes that celebrate the soft and curvy. However, the Nordic design history is multi-facetted, and Rosendahl is embracing this fact with the introduction of Penta: a new series of functional design that uses geometric shapes to rejuvenate classic objects from everyday life – the thermos jug and the bowl – giving them an architectural touch that is both timeless and ultra-trendy.

With the introduction of Penta, Rosendahl highlights the beauty of the pentagon shape, renewing the indispensable objects of everyday life with a stylish, new idiom that transforms your morning coffee and summer salad into architectural statements. The Penta collection comprises a thermos jug and glass bowls in three sizes with clean geometric lines that can be combined and stacked.

In the world of music, a duet is often a love song that pays tribute to the one we love in the beautiful harmony of two voices. With the introduction, this spring of the new Duet porcelain set, Rosendahl sings the same tune in a creative declaration of love of contemporary table settings. For Duet is more than just the meeting of two shades of colour; its name stems from the combination of glossy and matte porcelain in an elegant relief pattern that creates a beautiful harmony between smooth and ridged surfaces. With its trendy design, Duet has the potential to become a new classic. The design is also durable in more than one sense, since Rosendahl offers a 10-year breakage warranty on frame parts.

The Duet series comprises plates, bowls and mugs in two colour combinations: white porcelain edged with warm grey or white porcelain with off-white accents, ensuring there is something for both parties in the design duet.

Rosendahl

PRESS RELEASES

In short, the glass has become an accessory, and in keeping with this trend, Rosendahl introduced the Premium glass series last year. An elegant and comprehensive range of glasses that meets contemporary demands for specialisation and everyday luxury. And this autumn, the collection is being expanded to include a snaps glass.

This autumn, in collaboration with Rosendahl, Tom Nybroe has designed a multifunctional wine pourer that gives wine lovers the perfect tool for delivering wine from bottle to glass. The stylish stopper, which is made from stainless steel, aerates and decants the wine during the pouring process, while ensuring good hygiene.

Appreciation of the importance of the knife has put it at the top of the list for new acquisitions in the contemporary kitchen, and now Rosendahl caters to chefs of every calibre with a new no-nonsense, six-piece knife series. The series is made from steel and rubber in collaboration with architect and designer Thomas Sigsgaard, who was inspired by the classic hunting knife and the demand for high-quality kitchen utensils at a reasonable price. This autumn’s new addition to the kitchen drawer also includes an elegant knife sharpener, which hides a ceramic grinding slot behind its polished steel.

For this reason, Rosendahl has joined forces with architect and designer Eva Harlou to create the Wine Ball. A contemporary, playful and ultra-functional new design that ingeniously combines a corkscrew, foil cutter, wine stopper and bottle opener and encourages discourse on aesthetic design as the ball is taken apart and reassembled around the table. The Wine Ball is also decorative even without the grapes, with a design that blends in as a natural part of contemporary home interiors.

The iconic Grand Cru carafe with the distinctive grooves and steel cuff is a superstar in the design world and one of the most popular products in the Rosendahl range. Luckily, hero status is no impediment to renewal in the carafe category, and Rosendahl has joined forces with designer Pil Bredahl this autumn to elevate the indispensable “water carrier” to new heights.

Nanne Ditzel

PRESS RELEASES

Nanna Ditzel (1923 – 2005) is known as the Grand Old Lady of Danish design and throughout her career she challenged boundaries and explored many creative avenues. A look through the design archives reveals that Nanna Ditzel touched on just about everything that sets the stage for modern life – from textiles to interiors. The same holds true for Rosendahl, and this autumn they have applied Ditzel’s strokes to a range of new product groups. With the introduction of the new Nanna Ditzel collection, Rosendahl has established a close collaboration with the designer’s family, taking inspiration from her characteristic “Crisscross” pattern and reinterpreting it in a unique universe for the kitchen and home.

Karen Blixen

PRESS RELEASES

Rosendahl now seeks to remedy this situation with the addition of an updated version of the Advent wreath to the Karen Blixen Christmas series, which embraces both the popular metallic trend and the geometric look. The four-armed candle holder can be used in the home all year round and decorated according to season and taste. It can also be supplemented with matching Christmas tree candle holders with a rhombus on the end.

The collection embodies classic Scandinavian Christmas symbols, nature and trendy metals in beautiful hanging decorations, and the new designs for 2016 are no exception. Stylised corn sheaves, wreaths, pine trees, angels and elves all add a touch of Scandinavian design to Christmas. The photo frame, too, is back by popular demand, encouraging personal decorative statements in the form of snapshots, selfies and photos to hang on the tree and around the home.

Grand Cru

Press releases

Often the worktop is reserved for the items we use most every day, placing high demands for storage that is both functional and beautiful. This has made Rosendahl’s Grand Cru storage containers design classics. And now the series is being updated with lids in untreated European oak, upholding the Scandinavian design DNA.

Pie is a classic dish in most kitchens, from French quiche to American apple pie. The same can be said of Rosendahl’s Grand Cru series, which has laid the table for more than 20 years with multifunctional design and everyday elegance featuring the series’ characteristic white grooves. However, design classic status should never come before innovation, whether of pies or design. Rosendahl is therefore following a different path this spring with the introduction of a new graphic pie dish featuring supersized grooves based on the well-known Grand Cru design.

This autumn, Rosendahl is adding a multifunctional and minimalistic platter to its Grand Cru range in top-of-the-line glass.

This season, the popular thermos jug has been dressed in pastels, with dusty grey and dusty pink surfaces inspired by the subdued light of winter. The Grand Cru pastel universe has also been joined by matching butter boards and a porcelain milk jug, forming a strong and trendy trio for the kitchen table.

A new mega-sized bowl is joining the Grand Cru Bakeware family. The mega-bowl has a capacity of 7.5 litres.

Action begets reaction, as they say. This principle also applies in the design world, where one of the strongest trends today – slow tech – is challenging the digitisation age with a variety of authentic, high-quality designs. Among them is the Arne Jacobsen weather station, which Rosendahl is now launching in a beautiful rendition based on the designer’s world famous Bankers Clock, consisting of a wall clock, thermometer, barometer and hygrometer. This autumn, in response to popular demand, Rosendahl is adding a classic dessert glass to its Grand Cru Soft collection. The dessert glass, which stacks easily, comes in a boxed set of four. Naturally, the glasses are also extremely useful outside the universe of delicious desserts.

Rosendahl is now introducing Grand Cru Soft cutlery. The cutlery matches the soft contours of the Grand Cru Soft porcelain and is available in mirror-polished steel to add extra sparkle to daily mealtimes.

Filigran

Press releases

Lin Utzon’s Filigran design is a classic of the Rosendahl range. Normally, her glass series is famous for its decoratively intricate patterns but this autumn, Lin Utzon is exploring new territory and has updated Filigran entirely without its characteristic illustrations. The hand-blown glass now has a beautifully twisted optical look that gives the small tealight holder greater impact, and the vases are delicate works of art even without flowers.

Rosendahl Saga Vases

Press Releases

To keen gardeners, the magnolia is considered the finest of all garden trees. It seems almost to contradict the laws of nature with its large, beautiful flowers that bloom despite the cool temperatures of early spring. In spring 2014, Rosendahl pays tribute to the beautiful magnolia by featuring its flowers on a new vase design, Saga Magnolia, which has the perfect shape for summer bouquets and embodies the story of Danish design for the home and table.
