Vase H15.5 cm

The ever-popular Lyngby vase has become a true design classic. Most people associate the vase with minimalism and functional design. This is the 15 cm Copenhagen Green Lyngby vase, handmade in porcelain. You can choose the Lyngby vase in many beautiful colours and several different sizes.

The signature design for Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark – Lyngby Porcelæn is the oblong vase with the iconic flutes, where minimalist and functionalist design is combined with classic craftsmanship and advanced production techniques. When the vase emerged back in the 1930s, there was a tradition of creating vases with ornamentation and decoration. So it attracted a lot of attention with its simple and very different expression, which was more reminiscent of classic pillars.

The vase from Lyngby Porcelæn challenged traditions and was strongly influenced by the functionalist Bauhaus movement in Germany, where the focus was on form and functionality rather than decoration. And to this day it remains one of the most popular vases in the Lyngby Porcelæn range. Since then, the Lyngby range has been expanded with a wide range of charming and elegant designs – all with the perfect lines that characterise Lyngby Porcelæn’s minimalist and stylish design, giving the Lyngby range a very special look.

The Lyngby range also includes two candle holders created with a clear reference to the iconic fluted vase. Both the 7 cm and 11 cm candle holders  have wide flutes at the base and narrower ones at the top, creating an elegant and very timeless look that is a perfect match for the design of the original vase. The 3 cm high white, glazed porcelain tea light holders also go well with the candle holders and vases, and the timeless design makes it easy to decorate all parts of your home with these simple and stylish products.

Porcelain has always been one of the key elements at Lyngby Porcelæn, but glass and glass art have also always been there on the sidelines. Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark – Lyngby Porcelæn was actually founded originally by glass wholesalers. And as a supplement to the porcelain range, with strong inspiration from porcelain as a material, you will find a large selection of tea light holders and vases created in wonderful, mouth-blown glass in a number of attractive, modern colours.

The flowerpot in handmade porcelain and the charming bonbonnière, which is available in both porcelain and glass, are also both designed with inspiration from the elegant Lyngby classics. The flowerpot holder features Lyngby Porcelæn’s well-known flutes and a simple, minimalist look and is available in three different sizes.

Lyngby Porcelæn first launched the bonbonnière in 1944. And it’s clear to see that the white fluted bowl is related to the iconic vase. The bonbonnière is ideal for storing chocolates or Greek yoghurt for the brunch table, and it is available in several different colours and sizes in both glass and porcelain.

To complete the Lyngby range, you will also find the beautiful and simple handmade porcelain light socket from Lyngby Porcelæn, LP Fitting, which with its clear colour in white or dark grey offers a simple and stylish way to create elegant lighting in any room.

The story behind
Lyngby Porcelæn

The Danish porcelain manufacturer – Lyngby Porcelæn was founded in Kongens Lyngby in Denmark in 1936 with the aim of producing porcelain tableware, vases and other decorative art of high-quality craftsmanship.

Until the 1920s, ornamentation and decoration dominated designs. The focus was more on how the porcelain was decorated, rather than the shape of the porcelain. But this changed over time, strongly influenced by the functionalist Bauhaus movement in Germany, and soon form and functionality became the preferred focal point instead of decorative elements.
