Holmegaard

Old English

The Old English range is a series of vases and flower pots in clear glass with a classic and beautiful Holmegaard look, designed in collaboration with gardener and flower artist Claus Dalby. The mouth-blown and elegant glass range is based on the English garden tradition’s lavish flowerbed, in which beautiful bouquets and flower heads floating in water are a distinctive feature. The Old English vase is designed to give the flowers free rein and to showcase them optimally, as the vase’s narrow neck and spacious basin make it suitable for both tightly bound and loose flowers.

You can also welcome both the warm summer evenings and dark winter nights with the range's pretty, small Old English candle holder, which with its light and round shapes, and a beautiful and classic look spreads cosiness, whether it is lit up by tealights or filled with small stones or beads for a decorative touch to your home.

Each piece of mouth-blown glass in the Old English range is unique and handmade by the glassblower, who carefully blows the right amount of air through the narrow pipe. Air bubbles in the glass are therefore inevitable and are part of the charm of mouth-blown glass.

HOLMEGAARD'S HISTORY

FOUNDED BY A WOMAN WHO WAS AHEAD OF HER TIME

Holmegaard is a Danish design icon and one of the most recognised names in the Scandinavian tradition of craftsmanship. The long and proud tradition of glass production dates back to 1825, when Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe created an artistic and aesthetic design universe at the glassworks.
