Or decorate your home with the more modern and minimalist bonbonniere, which is made of porcelain and has a very simple look.
It is the porcelain version of the bonbonniere with lid that is the original version. Lyngby produced its first bonbonniere with lid in 1944, Today, they come in a choice of variants and remain a firm favourite in the design archive. With its grooves, the porcelain bowl is inspired by the classic Lyngby vase, and they match each other beautifully. Both the porcelain bonbonniere and the mouth-blown glass version are available in several attractive colours and different sizes, making them suitable for everything from serving on the dining table to storing jewellery and sweet treats such as fine chocolates. The mouth-blown glass version of the bonbonniere is also typical of many of Lyngby’s designs. Glass art and glass have always been an important material for the brand. Porcelænsfabrikken Danmark – Lyngby Porcelæn - was originally founded by glass wholesalers, which is why glass is actually just as much a part of Lyngby’s DNA as porcelain.
Lyngby’s bonbonniere is also available in a beautiful reinterpreted version by designer Milia Seyppel, who graduated from Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar and runs her own design studio in Hamburg. Her work has a poetic and sensual touch to it. Known for constructing new shapes, colours and sculptures, her designs are often recognisable by their playful forms. She has named her reinterpretation of Lyngby’s classic bonbonniere CHAPEAU. CHAPEAU is a series of bonbonnieres produced in either porcelain or glass, just like the classic Lyngby bonbonniere. The CHAPEAU version is designed in a soft, round shape with a smooth surface, and looks almost like a ball on the table. With the lid on, it is wonderfully decorative. Use it for serving soups, dips, ice cream or sweets, as a graphic decoration, or for storing small treats such as chocolates or boiled sweets.
Lyngby bonbonnieres are both decorative and functional for storing small items. They are ideal for combining with Lyngby’s other products. This allows you to achieve a consistent interior look with Danish design as the focal point. Lyngby’s products are easily recognisable with their elongated vertical grooves, which nod to the original and iconic Lyngby vase.
