When Arne Jacobsen designed the City Hall Clock for Rødovre Town Hall in 1956, he also created a design icon for the home. This wall clock is available in three sizes, and its current design is faithful to the original drawings. With its diameter of 29 cm, this clock is the largest in the range. The clock case supporting the concave glass front gives the clock an appearance of hovering on the wall. A great gift idea for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, school leavers and other special occasions.
Arne Jacobsen Clocks
City Hall
City Hall is a series of clocks for both the wall and the table. With its round glass form and simple hour display, it has become a national favourite here in Denmark. The City Hall clock was designed by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen and was originally created to hang at Rødovre Town Hall, where the clock was part of his total concept for the new town hall when it was built in 1956.
Arne Jacobsen is known for his uncompromising approach to design and architecture. The City Hall series from Arne Jacobsen Clocks is a shining example of his work. The design is timeless, classic and entirely simple – yet also utterly characteristic of his work. Floating on the wall, the clock hangs almost like a sculpture in the home, a beautiful representation of what Danish design can achieve at its very best. The wall clock in the series is available in a small size of 16 cm in diameter, a slightly bigger size of 21 cm in diameter and the large size of 29 cm.
The City Hall clock is loved for its universal expression, which is why it was obvious to make a table edition of this iconic timepiece. In addition to a wall clock in three different sizes, the City Hall series from Arne Jacobsen Clocks also includes a number of clocks for the table, shelf or window sill. Each measures 11 cm in diameter and is made of a tempered impact-resistant top glass with a solid stainless steel foot. The table clock is available in several different colour combinations, and in addition to being a decorative feature throughout the home, it also comes with all the necessary alarm clock functions such as alarm, snooze and light. A sensor allows both the light and snooze function to be activated by a gentle hand movement over the top of the clock.
