The world-renowned architect's table clock with alarm feature was created in 1939. Its graphic look and metal base – clearly referencing his own Ant and No. 7 chairs – make the clock an ideal gift for the design enthusiast. The clock is perfect for any contemporary home. With its updated features, such as snooze and light sensor, it doubles as an efficient alarm clock.

Arne Jacobsen Clocks

Arne Jacobsen’s Roman wall clock is not only a beautiful and functional timepiece, but also a symbol of Danish design history. Roman was created for Aarhus City Hall for its inauguration in 1941. It still hangs on the Norwegian marble, 60-metre-high city hall tower to this day. As the name suggests, the Roman numerals on the clock help give it its unique expression. The Roman numerals on the clock face are a characteristic part of this piece from Arne Jacobsen Clocks, which, with its concave glass, appears almost to float on the wall.

The Roman wall clock is available in four different sizes: 16, 21, 29 and 48 cm. The Roman series also includes a black table clock, whose graphic expression and metal base with clear inspiration from the Ant and the Series 7 chair make it an obvious gift idea for design lovers. The Roman table clock from Arne Jacobsen Clocks measures 11 cm in diameter and is made of a tempered, impact-resistant top glass with a solid stainless steel foot. It will fit perfectly into any modern home, and the updated features like snooze mode and light sensor make it an effective alarm clock on the bedside table.

Aarhus City Hall is recognised for its special architecture and monumental expression. Its unique architecture meant that the city hall with the Roman clock on its facade was listed in March 1994 and subsequently included in January 2006 in the Danish Culture Canon under the area of architecture. The Roman wall clock is thus both a functional design object that can be hung as a modern work of art on the wall and a piece of Danish design history and tradition.
