Esben Klint
Lyngby Porcelæn and LE KLINT collaborated briefly in the 1950s to produce a table lamp that combined the popular flutes from the iconic vase from Lyngby Porcelæn with the Klint family’s proud craftsmanship. The result was the stylish Esben Klint lamp, which is a unique combination of two Danish design classics, namely the folded LE KLINT lampshade and the characteristic flutes from Lyngby Porcelæn’s iconic vase.
Both classics grew out of the functionalism of the 1940s and share razor-sharp lines and a pure shade of white. The two Esben Klint lamps in the range offer you a beautiful and timeless design object in handmade porcelain suitable for most rooms. Back then, the design was only produced in a limited edition, so there are not many of them around today. If you’re lucky, you might find some of the original lamps at flea markets – they all have ‘Eksklusivt produceret’ (‘Exclusively produced’) printed on the base.

The story behind
Lyngby Porcelæn
The Danish porcelain manufacturer – Lyngby Porcelæn was founded in Kongens Lyngby in Denmark in 1936 with the aim of producing porcelain tableware, vases and other decorative art of high-quality craftsmanship.
Until the 1920s, ornamentation and decoration dominated designs. The focus was more on how the porcelain was decorated, rather than the shape of the porcelain. But this changed over time, strongly influenced by the functionalist Bauhaus movement in Germany, and soon form and functionality became the preferred focal point instead of decorative elements.
