Serve refreshing water or other treats in a Rosendahl carafe
Serve water in one of Rosendahl’s carafes. Rosendahl’s carafe for water can be found in many Danish homes, but it has also become popular outside Denmark, making it the epitome of Danish design and good style. It is part of Rosendahl’s simple and elegant Grand Cru series, which consists of more than 140 products. It serves as a great basic range for the kitchen and dinner table, and is undoubtedly one of Rosendahl’s most popular series.
Luckily, popularity was no obstacle when it came to renewing the iconic water carafe. Designer Pil Bredahl and Rosendahl took on this exciting task in collaboration with Rosendahl. And the beautiful, new version of the carafe is luckily recognisable from its beautiful shape, but has certainly also been taken to new design heights. With its pleated bottom and colourful silicone details, the new carafe has an aesthetic appeal, and the functionality is of course also top notch. The carafe is specially tailored to the refrigerator door.
Designer Pil Bredahl approached the task of designing a new water carafe for Rosendahl with a certain degree of humility and a strong awareness that the design had to be a family member with an independent identity. In other words, it had to differ from its sister design category and be able to stand on the dinner table in its own right. With its refined design, coloured silicone details and increased functionality, Pil Bredahl has managed to build on Rosendahl’s signature carafe and create a new, unique look that, together with the matching glasses, sets the scene for a new classic carafe.
Pil Bredahl’s design approach to modern applied art is based on the fusion of practical functionality and great personality. “Products should seem natural in our everyday lives, but they should have their own story and personality – they shouldn't be so anonymous that they become just a universal line,” she explains, and has therefore redesigned Rosendahl’s water carafe in a more sporty and sophisticated version.
The carafe’s upright back, narrow waist and beautiful grooves fit perfectly into the Grand Cru series’ classic designs, but in an interpretation that makes the design completely fresh. The base consists of decorative grooves that complement the carafe. The silicone band makes the carafe comfortable to hold and makes it easy to pour from without dripping. Should there still be a few drops, collect them in the silicone sleeve and let them evaporate instead of running down the water carafe and leaving rings on the table.
There is no doubt that the carafe has countless functions and can be used for everything from juice and lemonade to iced tea, smoothies and elderflower juice. The many beautiful drinks call for a design that is easy to store in the fridge door, which is why the circumference of the carafe is designed exactly for this purpose. Pil Bredahl has also used the flexible silicone material as a lid for the carafe. A detail that is not entirely insignificant, as it means that the drink inside it doesn't absorb the flavours of the other fridge contents. And that's a real benefit.
Serve refreshing water or other drinks in the water carafe together with Rosendahl’s water glassses for your guests.
