A beloved classic in Danish design, beautifully decorated to bring hope and joy. The series of songbirds and lovebirds is a wonderful example of how Kay Bojesen, back in the 1950s, used a simple design language to give his figurines life and soul, creating original stories made of wood. Even today, their colourful personalities continue to spread joy, flying straight into the hearts of children and adults alike. The songbird pair featuring the Vito lovebirds was created in collaboration between Kay Bojesen Denmark and the international charity project Team Rynkeby. With this special edition of the iconic lovebirds, they join forces to bring hope and strength to children with serious illnesses in Denmark. Both Vito lovebirds measure 9 cm in height and are crafted with great precision from FSC®-certified beechwood, ensuring that the trees used in production are planted, grown and harvested responsibly. One lovebird features yellow plumage, a grey beak, a purple head and turquoise-blue legs, while the other is adorned with purple plumage, a grey beak, a yellow head and turquoise-blue legs – the same colour palette shared by both lovebirds. There is a very special reason for this, as each colour represents the team surrounding Vito – Team Rynkeby, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Children’s Lung Foundation. But Vito is much more than a pair of beautiful songbirds – they are companions on the journey for children fighting cancer and lung diseases. For each Vito Lovebirds sold, DKK 40 is donated to Team Rynkeby’s fundraising in support of the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Danish Lung Foundation’s vital work. NB: Proceeds from this product are donated exclusively to the Danish fundraising campaign.

Birds

The Birds series is a collection of songbirds with unique names in a wide range of playful colours. All birds in the Birds series are designed based on Kay Bojesen’s original drawings from the 1950s and produced in FSC®-certified  wood, which guarantees that the trees have been planted, cultivated and felled responsibly. Kay Bojesen designed with soul, humour and a twinkle in his eye and looked at the world from a child's perspective when creating new stories in wood. There had to be room for the imagination to unfold around the figures, and the simple design language, clear colours and friendly expressions have become his signature.
