When Per Lütken created Selandia in 1957, he created a modern classic that was put back into production in 2011. The mouth-blown dishes have a special shape that is created by hand, where the shape occurs when the glassblower gently rotates, raises and lowers the glass mass alternately. The visual softness of the 1400-degree hot glass mass is transferred directly to the cool, transparent version of the dish.
Use Selandia as a sculptural work of art on the table or on the bookcase, or fill it with seasonal fruit. The ultimate gift idea for a special occasion – and for anyone who loves original Danish design. The dish is available in sizes of 24 cm and 31 cm in a clear and blue version. Each piece of mouth-blown glass is unique and handmade by Holmegaard’s skilled glassblowers, who are known for their curiosity and desire to explore the many possibilities glass offers. They carefully blow just the right amount of air through the narrow pipe, making air bubbles in the glass inevitable and part of the charm that characterises Holmegaard’s mouth-blown glass collections.
