With the new Astro sculptures by Kähler, the Danish sculptress Malene Bjelke is inspired by the symbolism and ideas from past Kähler work related to sculptures and figurines. The result is 12 sculptures representing each sign of the zodiac; beautifully moving the historic Kähler design heritage into the modern world with a spiritual outlook.

Open to interpretation
The sculptures are genderless, minimalistic, and can be interpreted in many ways. It’s important to Malene Bjelke that everyone can identify with the values of the figurines – even if you have a different sign of the zodiac. She wanted the traits and the situation to be recognisable. Therefore, it's not the faces, but the composition of the sculptures that communicate the feelings and characteristics of each sign of the zodiac providing a dynamic interaction between the sculptures.
Each sign has a descriptive word attached to it, which is linked to the design of the individual sculpture. In this way, words and sculpture meet each other – and the energy is added by the human viewer via a unique situation.
