Hammershøi Poppy is a poetic and modern interpretation of nature's own artwork and launched originally as decoration on Hammershøi porcelain canvas. With Hammershøi Poppy damask tablecloth, the poppy flower grows into the textile universe as a woven poppy motif in subtle birch beige. The poppy is known for its fragile flower petals and feminine shades of colour, and blends perfectly together with the damask tradition, where glossy and matte threads lifts the floral motif and becomes a structural pattern on the tablecloth. Poppy damask tablecloth spreads the floral aesthetic all over the table, supporting both the classic white and the Poppy Hammershøi tableware. Hammershøi Poppy damask design makes tablecloth beautiful and personal and can create the setting for many pleasant hours around the table throughout the year.
The Kähler story
A unique design adventure that began in 1839
The story of Kähler begins as early as 1839, when the Dutch potter Herman J. Kähler opened a small ceramics workshop in Næstved and crafted the first Kähler vase. This was the start of a unique design adventure that would one day resonate around the world. However, the ceramic adventure only truly began when his son, Herman A. Kähler, took over the famous workshop in 1875.
