Get tips for your garden design
You’re dreaming of a new look in your garden, or maybe you’ve just bought a house and you're about to furnish your garden according to your own style and taste. But where should you start?
Maybe you’re dreaming of an orangery with clusters of grapes hanging from the ceiling, and a lush selection of vegetables, spices and berries? Maybe you’re more into a single fragrant flower bed at one end of the garden? It can be hard to know where to start when creating your dream garden. It’s not just about bringing individual elements into the garden, it’s about creating a whole, so you get the result you’re dreaming of. It is a pleasure to step into your green garden in the summer and enjoy the many visual and sensory experiences that come from birds, plants and trees.
Furnishing a terrace
When you start decorating your terrace, it’s all about making your garden a cohesive unit. Every single part makes a difference, and there should preferably be a common thread that ties everything together, to avoid the garden looking cluttered. When summer is at its best, the terrace becomes the most important room in your home. That’s why, as far as possible, you should try to make it your favourite room and furnish it with the garden furniture, flowerpots and colours you like best. Hang lanterns and fairy lights all around to create a cosy feel in the evenings, and place fur, soft garden cushions and pillows on your furniture. You can also collect small knick-knacks and place them in a dish on the table. In this way, you create a place where you want to stay all summer long. Think about which colours and styles you like. Do you love an English cottage, the casual bohemian feel, or a minimalist style?
Decorate with flower pots
Flowerpots have a great ability to transform the look of your garden. For example, if you have a terrace, flowerpots can help to create boundaries and small spaces. You can also plant small shrubs, plants and flowers, and place them in flower pots around the garden and on the terrace. The best quality of the flowerpot is that it can be moved as needed, which is an advantage if a flower needs more or less sunshine.
Feeder for the garden's birds
Water in the garden adds a very special dimension, with its rippling sounds. You could start out by adding a simple bird bath, or a bird feeder for your twittering guests. With our Rosendahl Birds garden range, you can both enjoy and nurture nature. The range’s decorative and functional feeders are available in four versions, in which every detail has been carefully considered. The different feeders are created in different designs, and you can choose between a hanging feeder and a spike for the lawn.
Grilling accessories
Do you love to grill? Then your terrace should be furnished accordingly. You can do this in several ways and, of course, it depends on how big your garden is. Many people choose to create a grilling area in the garden, in order to create a space where they can relax and light the grill. If you have a covered patio, it’s a good idea to keep your grill there, as you then avoid having to move the grill under cover when summer's over. While you’re grilling, you’ll need to keep some grilling gear and tools at hand. The most important equipment for a grill is the grilling glove and, if necessary, an apron to protect your clothes from food splatter. Moreover, you will also need tongs, a grill spatula, and a wire brush to clean your grill afterwards.
