A true original in Danish art meets a true original in Danish design. With the Kay Bojesen Songbird x Leif Sylvester collection, two of Denmark’s greatest mood-lifters in art and design come together in a heartfelt tribute to humour, creativity and originality. Each Kay Bojesen Songbird x Leif Sylvester art bird is unique in colour and expression. What they all share is that they have all been created in close collaboration with the beloved multi-artist Leif Sylvester, who has powerfully and lovingly transformed Kay Bojesen’s popular design classic into a true work of art. In this brand-new and exclusive art edition, the iconic songbird features unique hand-painted decorations recreated from Leif Sylvester’s original brushstrokes – and with pride, humility and a twinkle in the eye, we continue Kay Bojesen’s design legacy. From the tip of its vibrant wings to the heart of its creative soul, this is an original. A true original. Just like Kay Bojesen’s designs have been since 1922 – full of character and spreading joy as cherished design icons across generations. And the meeting with Leif Sylvester’s spectacular and life-affirming art has only made the beloved songbird even more full of character. The Kay Bojesen Songbird x Leif Sylvester Nightbird measures 20 cm in height and is crafted from FSC®-certified beechwood. With its deep glow in the eye, rich violet-blue hues and striking yellow front, the Kay Bojesen Songbird x Leif Sylvester Nightbird is more than ready for a bit of nocturnal mischief. And as a true work of art, it naturally bears the artist’s signature. Each edition of the Kay Bojesen Songbird x Leif Sylvester Nightbird is also individually numbered and comes in a limited release. Birds

The Birds series is a collection of songbirds with unique names in a wide range of playful colours. All birds in the Birds series are designed based on Kay Bojesen’s original drawings from the 1950s and produced in FSC®-certified  wood, which guarantees that the trees have been planted, cultivated and felled responsibly. Kay Bojesen designed with soul, humour and a twinkle in his eye and looked at the world from a child's perspective when creating new stories in wood. There had to be room for the imagination to unfold around the figures, and the simple design language, clear colours and friendly expressions have become his signature.
