A practical tablecloth for the dining table
It is a well-known fact that children quite often spill things compared to us adults, and especially when children are still very young and are learning how to eat properly, it can be quite a challenge for parents to keep the dining table and the surrounding area clean and tidy. This is why an acrylic tablecloth with anti-slip function really does help to protect your dining table, so you avoid stains from tomato sauce and other stubborn dishes on the often quite delicate table top. If you often have guests visiting for dinner, it can be a good idea to use a tablecloth to protect your table, and a practical tablecloth from Bjørn Wiinblad is ideal for this. Bjørn Wiinblad was known for his ability to create adventures and magic around his guests – including around the dining table. Nothing was left to chance when he opened the doors and invited his guests inside. The guests’ place cards were hand-painted and the table settings were immaculate and inspiring. Follow in Bjørn Wiinblad’s footsteps with a tablecloth from his imaginative universe. The tablecloths are nice and easy to clean with a damp cloth, giving you one less thing to worry about.
A story about an artist
Bjørn Wiinblad was born in 1918, and throughout his life he lived and breathed for his art. To this day, he has also been described as an artist with a thousand faces. He managed to reinvent himself throughout his life and never stagnated, when it came to finding new places and new materials that he was able to decorate. These include his finely decorated pottery, his imaginative theatre settings and tapestry, his smiling girls such as Eva and Rosalinde, the posters that you will never quite finish exploring and, not least, his dishes, candle holders and glasses. All of them are infused with a joie de vivre and energy that are unique in Danish art and design.
The joy of creation and the talent carried him forward
Bjørn Wiinblad’s joy of creation was eclectic. He painted larger-than-life oriental ladies and whimsical, mythical creatures – and spread joy, magic and imagination among the people at a time when minimalism was at its most dominant. His imaginative brush strokes swept into every nook and cranny of his art, and his urge to decorate kept his brush active throughout his life. Bjørn Wiinblad’s unstoppable urge to create, his extravagant oriental style and boundless talent made him a world artist the like of which Denmark has never seen before.
