When Per Lütken designed the Provence bowl in 1955, he created a Danish classic. The bowl has a diameter of 31 cm, it is made of mouth-blown glass and is shaped manually. This bowl is a bit of everyday luxury and can be used as a fruit bowl or for salads. The bowl is also available in 19 cm and 25 cm. A great gift idea that can be handed down through the generations. Each Provence bowl is unique and blown without the use of a mold. Here is the glassblower's ability to carefully control the glass bubble and let the steam from the floor blow the glass mass up to the finished product. The bowls therefore vary in shape and size. The manufacturing process of the Provence bowl is in itself a complete unique experience.

Provence

The Provence bowl is a series of bowls in different sizes, designed freely by hand by Per Lütken in 1955. The bowl was created without using moulds and is one of the best examples of Lütken’s respect for the fiery glass mass. For many years it has been a difficult item to collect, but now it is back in production as a proud representative of Danish glass art – an obvious gift idea for the design lover and guaranteed to be a gift that will be passed down for generations.

The Provence bowl comes in several sizes and colour variants, all of which pay tribute to the design classic's French name and which fit in with the current swirl trend. The Provence bowls in special colours have been particularly sought after, but now it's no longer only the lucky ones at auctions or happy heirs who are able to get their hands on them.

The rose colour gives the Provence bowl a feminine and delicate look. The soft shapes and soft colour radiate a deep tranquillity and encapsulate the state of contemplation needed to work with a vivid material such as glass. You can almost sense the depth of the breath that has breathed life into the bowl, and the presence and concentration the bowl is created with.

The new bowl is also available in a beautiful lavender colour that refers to the warm and colourful landscape from Provence. Use it as a small piece of luxury in your everyday life, such as for jewellery and for serving small snacks, or display it as curated glass art in your home. Yes, love of the region, where wild lavender and sighing flower-clad hills fight for attention, almost shine out of Per Lütken’s iconic Provence bowl, which, like a genuine, mouth-blown design icon, creates reflections in glass and beautifully and stylishly brings a bit of southern France into the home.

The third colour variant is confetti, which playfully and brightly reflects Holmegaard’s creativity, ingenuity and diverse colour palette. Holmegaard’s glassblowers are known for their curiosity and desire to explore the possibilities of the glass, and the confetti bowl exudes the artistic energy that is part of Holmegaard’s DNA.

The confetti effect is created by applying small, coloured pieces of glass by hand, which lie differently in each piece of glass. This means that each bowl becomes completely unique, and the confetti effect will therefore vary. The glass pieces blend beautifully into the rose-coloured glass mass, creating abstract lines that follow the shape of the Provence bowl and give it a playful and artistic appearance.

Per Lütken was a glassblower in a class of his own and he had great respect for the craft and a unique talent for capturing feelings and moods in glass, as the Provence bowl is a stylish example of. He managed to breathe life into more than 3,000 glass designs, many of which, like the Provence Bowl, have become classics with a high collector’s value.
