With the Colore series, Kähler puts the spotlight on the authentic and complete meal, where we can relax and enjoy the company of those we love. Kähler's Colore tart dish in Berry Blue has the same sensuous and tactile design as the rest of the series and is made of stoneware. The handmade tart dish has been developed with the unity and love that a shared meal can bring. The tart dish measures 28 cm in diameter and is therefore a standard size. The wide opening of the dish makes it both aesthetically pleasing and suitable for serving more than just tarts and pies – such as salads, hummus or desserts. The blue colour exudes pleasure and sensuality and evokes the distinctive dark and almost waxy surface of blueberries.
All pieces from the series are decorated with a hand-painted brush stroke along the edge, which visually frames the shapes and reveals there is a person behind them. Inspired by traditional craft techniques, the glossy glaze used for Colore creates a beautiful, vibrant and varied effect typical of many of Kähler’s 1930s tableware pieces. Colore has been given a glaze with similar qualities, creating a vibrant surface that elegantly accentuates the sensuous details and shapes of this tableware. The tart dish is oven, dishwasher, microwave and freezer-safe, so it can be part of your daily kitchen use.

THE AUTHENTIC FOOD EXPERIENCE
The Colore range was created with inspiration from Kähler’s proud craft traditions, and inspired by the people who created bowls, mugs and plates in Kähler’s old pottery workshop in Kindhestegade in Næstved.
Ceramists always add a personal touch to the material they process, and on the old one-of-a-kind pieces from Kähler you can clearly see traces and markings from the hands behind the creative design. You can see and feel that there is a person behind the scenes who has made an effort, and this feeling has inspired the sensuous and tactile design of Colore.

The Kähler story
A unique design adventure that began in 1839
The story of Kähler begins as early as 1839, when the Dutch potter Herman J. Kähler opens a small ceramics workshop in Næstved and turns the first Kähler vase. It marks the start of a unique design adventure that will one day resonate around the world. However, it is only when his son Herman A. Kähler takes over the famous workshop in 1875 that the ceramic adventure really begins.
