Skibsglas
The Skibsglas series from 1971 is one of Homegaard's best-known classics. The handmade glass with the curved shape is robust and popular for everyday use – and perhaps the big favourite when setting the classic Danish lunch table with hot dishes and cold beers and schnapps. The Skibsglas was designed by Per Lütken, who was one of Holmegaard’s most advanced glass designers. He has breathed life into more than 3,000 glass designs, many of which have become classics with a high overall value.
The Skibglas series is one of Per Lütken’s most famous designs, and the series includes glasses for beer, schnapps, red wine and white wine, so there is every opportunity to use this mouth-blown series on the classic lunch table. You will be able to feel the robust design and hand-moulded shape when you drink from the glass, and the series is ideal for those who appreciate reflective glass based on some of Holmegaard’s most classic glass craftsmanship.
Each piece of mouth-blown glass is unique and handmade by Holmegaard’s skilled glassblowers, who are known for their curiosity and desire to explore the many possibilities glass offers. They carefully blow just the right amount of air through the narrow pipe, making air bubbles in the glass inevitable and part of the charm that characterises Holmegaard’s mouth-blown glass collections.
