With artist Jette Frölich’s nostalgic and masterful paper cuttings, Holmegaard Christmas invites you to take a look through the windows of a traditional old bakery. Admire Jette Frölich’s original and artistic universe up close on the small tealight holders, sold in packs of two, and celebrate Christmas with family and friends in the glow of candlelight. The 7.5-cm tall and highly decorative tealight holders are extremely aesthetic and create a cosy atmosphere when the flame glows onto the motifs on Jette Frölich’s tealight holders, casting shadows and reflections. The motifs are different on the two tealight holders and are both variations of Jette Frölich’s nostalgic Christmas universe. On one of the tealight holders, a boy is standing outside the shop window looking in with great curiosity. He can see four Christmas cakes – two Christmas cakes with frosting and holly on display, a gingerbread house and a beautiful Christmas pretzel. On the second tealight holder, you see a girl sitting in the bakery’s café drinking a cup of hot chocolate, while the bakery’s window is beautifully decorated with Christmas cakes and a gingerbread heart. The motifs on the tealight holders are variations of the motif that adorns the entire Holmegaard Christmas 2023 series. The motifs are based on reflections on the magic of Christmas, and beautifully convey children's love of Christmas and the sense of anticipation for the big day.

Holmegaard Christmas is a Christmas series that has been reflecting the magic of Christmas for many years. Back in 1981, Jette Frölich created her characteristic paper cuttings for Holmegaard’s Christmas bottle for the first time. And four decades later, Holmegaard’s Christmas collection has become a much-loved collector’s item for many Christmas fans. This is largely because Jette Frölich masterfully manages to translate Christmas’ key messages such as caring, generosity and meticulous preparations into simple motifs full of Christmas spirit. She masterfully illustrates the instantly recognisable feelings that live in us on a daily basis and are reinforced during the holidays.
Together with the Advent wreath and the Advent candle, Christmas cosiness is one of December’s established traditions. The same applies to Holmegaard Christmas, which transforms the holiday into paper cuttings on glass jars with motifs taken from our shared Christmas stories and Nordic Christmas traditions. Everything that makes Christmas so special.
Childhood memories and the joy of anticipation are almost the essence of Christmas. Add to this the many cosy family traditions and the joy of ending the year and celebrating with the people we love the most. It is precisely this joy and excitement that inspires Jette Frölich to encapsulate the Nordic Christmas – and everything that makes it unique – in her distinctive, elegant lines. Holmegaard Christmas brings out a new Christmas motif every year, and for many, the series has become a regular part of Christmas – both as hist/hostess gifts, Christmas gifts and as a cosy addition to the Christmas decorations.
