The classic Rhombe pattern by Lyngby Porcelain was first seen adorning the popular Danild range as a décal on porcelain back in 1961. On this Rhombe bauble, we have recaptured the eye-catching pattern and produced it as a relief. The Rhombe bauble is handmade in porcelain, and is perfect when you’re getting ready for Christmas. The simple, attractive appearance of the Rhombe baubles as hanging ornaments will look great in the windows or as more conventional Christmas decorations.

The Rhombe range from Lyngby Porcelæn is a classic dinner service with an elegant reinterpretation of a familiar pattern. The range has everything you need to create an attractive and stylish dinner table – and the minimalist perfectionism of the tableware plays an important role in Lyngby Porcelæn’s design philosophy and passion for bringing the elegant, beautifully decorated table into the modern age.
The Rhombe range gives you modern tableware with a classic look that sets the stage for the meal with its high-quality craftsmanship – stylish and elegant. The rhombus pattern from which the range takes its name was taken from Lyngby Porcelæn’s extensive design archive, and first saw the light of day as a pattern in the ovenproof DAN-ILD range back in 1961. This iconic pattern is now used as a tribute to the classic Rhombe pattern, providing the tableware with a pleasant, tactile feel.
In 2014, the rhombus shape was reinterpreted and brought to life in the Rhombe dinner service as we know it today. This time as a relief pattern inspired by the double spiral found in nature, for example in an artichoke or a cone. It is an innovative and technically demanding pattern, and is created in a very complicated process mastered only by very few porcelain manufacturers. And you can clearly see and feel the unique expression and quality of the individual parts, while enjoying the perfect lines that characterise Lyngby Porcelæn’s stylish design.
The range naturally includes both standard flat and deep plates in several sizes and everything you need when it comes to bowls, gravy boats and serving dishes for a beautiful and simple table setting. And if carbonara or bouillabaisse is on the menu, the deep 24.5 cm plate also gives you the opportunity to stylishly and elegantly elevate the serving of pasta dishes and soups. Use the pasta plate for everyday use or special occasions and let your guests enjoy the classic and elegant expression of a plate with extra depth.
All the beautiful plates and bowls will adorn any table with a classic and very stylish expression. And because of its timeless and modern form, the entire Rhombe range of tableware from Lyngby Porcelæn can be used as a beautiful design element in a display cabinet, so that you can also enjoy the perfect lines when the dinner service is not in use. The range also includes mugs with and without handles, tea cups with saucers, and the milk jug, sugar bowl and cake stand mean that you can be stylish in white, handmade porcelain all the way through when serving coffee, tea and pastries.
The Rhombe range gives you everything from starter to dessert – and whatever else you need over and above and in between, with egg cups, candle holders and vases. All of which makes it the ideal dinner service to take out for both the classic Christmas dinner and the big Easter lunch. And to complete the look, you will find white, yellow and lavender Easter eggs made to hang up in porcelain, and elegant decorative balls in a wide range of colours with the beautiful Rhombe pattern, which is repeated on all products in the range. Ideal as decoration on branches, in a vase or as a hanging decoration in the window or on the Christmas tree.

The story behind
Lyngby Porcelæn
The Danish porcelain manufacturer – Lyngby Porcelæn was founded in Kongens Lyngby in Denmark in 1936 with the aim of producing porcelain tableware, vases and other decorative art of high-quality craftsmanship.
Until the 1920s, ornamentation and decoration dominated designs. The focus was more on how the porcelain was decorated, rather than the shape of the porcelain. But this changed over time, strongly influenced by the functionalist Bauhaus movement in Germany, and soon form and functionality became the preferred focal point instead of decorative elements.
