2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the Cocoon vase, which is being celebrated with a new design from Holmegaard Archives: The iconic special-edition Cocoon vase is 45-cm tall and mouth-blown in a colour palette of opal lavender, blue-green and nude on a transparent grey-smoke background. It took Peter Svarrer three years to develop the shape of the Cocoon series’ first vase. But the result was well worth the wait, and over time it has become a modern classic. The vase is an exquisite example of the glassblowers’ craftsmanship, Peter Svarrer’s excellent design and the creative play with colours and reflections that are a big part of Holmegaard’s DNA. Everything put into production under the Holmegaard Archives umbrella exudes history – but in a contemporary context – and is a perfect example of how Holmegaard is able to create unique reflections of the past, present and future in glass.
