Stories by Eve

Stories of Eve is a series of three white ceramic figures, which are collectively known as Stories of Eve, where renowned artist and ceramicist Louise Hindsgavl has renewed Kähler’s old figurine traditions with a piece of modern art and interior design. In addition to the Stories of Eve, each character has its own subtitle: Happiness, Love in Motion and Tenderness. And with their fascinating faience, each figure tells a thought-provoking story about the possibilities and conditions of the modern woman.

The idea behind Happiness is that we currently have endless opportunities to beautify ourselves, and you should remember to pursue that. Love in Motion pays tribute to the busy mother, while Tenderness is all about complex love and heightened awareness of the unique characteristics and abilities of others. Let the attention-grabbing figures, which are only available as limited editions, delight and adorn the sideboard in your living room, and enjoy how the provocative and innovative ceramic figures stylishly bring art into the modern home.

Historically, Kähler is well-known for its ceramic figures and, with the Stories of Eve range, this tradition is given a renaissance, where Kähler uses a collaboration with Louise Hindsgavl to bring this otherwise forgotten tradition into modern times – as a fine harmonisation of Kähler’s handmade design traditions for art ceramics, current trends, and the eternally stimulating provocations of art.

The Kähler story

A unique design adventure that began in 1839

The story of Kähler begins as early as 1839, when the Dutch potter Herman J. Kähler opens a small ceramics workshop in Næstved and turns the first Kähler vase. It marks the start of a unique design adventure that will one day resonate around the world. However, it is only when his son Herman A. Kähler takes over the famous workshop in 1875 that the ceramic adventure really begins.
